Research Participant Terms & Conditions

Effective Date: October 23, 2025
Entity: Good Game Research LLC (Wyoming, USA), operating through its Swedish branch, Good Game Research Filial (“we,” “us,” or “our”).

These Research Participant Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern participation in any research activity conducted by Good Game Research LLC, including playtests, interviews, surveys, and focus groups (“Studies”).
By participating, you (“Participant,” “you,” or “your”) agree to these Terms.

1. Purpose

Good Game Research LLC conducts global consumer and player research to help improve games, products, and interactive experiences.
Participation may include surveys, interviews, recordings, or gameplay sessions, either in-person or online.

Participation is voluntary and does not create an employment, partnership, or agency relationship with us.

2. Eligibility

Participants must be 18 years or older, unless otherwise specified.
Minors (under 18) may only participate with written consent and supervision of a parent or legal guardian, who must sign or authorize participation on their behalf.
You must be legally able to enter into this agreement in your country of residence.

3. Voluntary Participation and Withdrawal

Participation is entirely voluntary. You may withdraw at any time without penalty.
If you withdraw, we may retain and use anonymized data collected up to that point, as it can no longer identify you.

4. Confidentiality and Non-Disclosure

You may be required to sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) before certain Studies, issued either by:

Good Game Research LLC, or
The client commissioning the Study.

All materials, discussions, and information shared with you — including unreleased products, visuals, concepts, or conversations — are strictly confidential.
You may not record, copy, share, or disclose any such information without written authorization.
These confidentiality obligations continue indefinitely after the Study ends.

5. Data Protection and Privacy

Your personal information is handled according to our Privacy Policy, which complies with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), and other applicable data laws.
The Privacy Policy forms part of these Terms and describes how your data is collected, used, stored, and deleted.

6. Compensation

Participants may receive compensation in the form of:

Gift cards,
Game keys, or
Merchandise or digital rewards.

Compensation details are always provided in writing before the Study.
Compensation is only provided after all participation requirements are met, is non-transferable, and is not convertible to cash.
We do not provide monetary payments unless explicitly stated in writing.

7. Ownership and Use of Research Materials

All feedback, recordings, notes, and other materials collected during a Study are the exclusive property of Good Game Research LLC.
We may use, reproduce, analyze, or adapt anonymized data and recordings for research, reporting, and client work.

Participants do not retain ownership or authorship rights in any research results, reports, or intellectual property developed from their participation.

8. Participant Conduct

By joining a Study, you agree to:

Provide accurate and truthful information during recruitment and participation.
Refrain from abusive, discriminatory, or disruptive behavior.
Follow all reasonable instructions from research facilitators or moderators.

We reserve the right to remove or disqualify any Participant who violates these expectations or breaches confidentiality, without compensation.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law:

Good Game Research LLC and its affiliates are not liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising from participation.
We are not responsible for:
- Technical failures, interruptions, or data loss caused by third-party platforms (e.g., Discord, Google, Microsoft).
- Delays or issues with compensation delivery caused by external vendors.
- Unauthorized access to data despite reasonable security safeguards.

Our total liability for any claim related to participation shall not exceed the total compensation offered for the specific Study.

10. Data Retention and Deletion

We may retain anonymized data indefinitely for research and reporting purposes.
Personal data is stored only as long as necessary for its intended purpose and may be deleted upon verified request, as described in our Privacy Policy.

11. International Participation

Our research is conducted globally.
By participating, you acknowledge that your data may be transferred and processed in the United States, the European Union, or other jurisdictions under appropriate legal safeguards, such as Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) where required.

12. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of Wyoming, United States, and, for data protection matters, by the applicable laws of the European Union and Sweden.

Any dispute shall follow this hybrid resolution process:

Good-faith negotiation within 30 days of written notice.
If unresolved, binding arbitration under the rules of the American Arbitration Association or an equivalent body.
Either party may enforce an arbitral award or seek equitable relief in a competent court in Wyoming (USA) or Sweden, as applicable.

13. Severability

If any part of these Terms is found invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.

14. Amendments

We may update these Terms periodically.
The most current version will always be available on goodgameresearch.com.
Updates take effect upon posting, and continued participation after updates constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
